Systems Mapping Autumn School

in October 2024

systems mapping training course class
Learn systems mapping together with a peer group of changemakers.

Learn through a combination of self study, individual and group exercises and live discussion and feedback sessions. We will use Miro as the main tool, so you have everything in one place.

Each participant will work on their own map, but we will go through the process together. This provides us with many different examples to discuss and learn from.

Deeply understand the system your challenge has emerged from, learn how to use systems maps to communicate these insights to others and build strong cooperative relationships with the actors in your system.

This course is facilitated by Hannah Härtwich. For the past five years, Hannah has worked as a facilitator to support systems change initiatives. She uses systems mapping as her core method and combines it with other approaches such as Serious Play, story telling, Deep Democracy and many others, depending on what the system needs. The course content is based on her practical experience applying systems mapping in a diverse range of projects.

This systems mapping course is designed for anyone with the ambition to facilitate systems change, no matter your background or where you work.

Over the course of five weeks, we come together once a week online for 2.5 hours to walk through the systems mapping process and discuss and practice what is important to keep in mind for each step.

Between sessions, you will practice what you have learned based on your own challenge question, which we will formulate together in the first session. In order to get the most out of this course, make sure you reserve some time each week to practice, at least two hours.

I recommend choosing a challenge question that closely relates to your work or ambitions, to make it as "real" and practical as possible and so that the time you invest in learning simultaneously brings you valuable insights relevant to your work.

To have enough space for individual questions and feedback, the course is limited to a maximum of 15 participants.

To continue supporting you after the course ends, a 60 minute individual coaching session is included with the course signup. You can use this at any stage of a systems mapping project that you are working on, within one year of finishing the course.

Session dates:

Every Thursday in October: 03.10, 10.10, 17.10, 24.10, 31.10
